Mutheu Kasanga’s Life Story at KPSA
Kenya Private Schools Association’s
(KPSA) outgoing National
Chairperson could rightfully be
described as one among Kenya’s most
passionate educationists.
Since 1992, Madam Mutheu Kasanga has
worked with the Lukenya Academy rising
through the ranks as a class teacher to
becoming a director at the Schools. She got
involved with KPSA as early as year 2000,
where she helped in founding KPSA’s Next
Generation sub-committee. By 2010, she was
a member of the first secondary schools sub-
committee.
“I joined KPSA as an honourly secretary in
2012 and served for two terms until April
2016, when I was again elected as the
National Chairperson taking over
from Mr. Ernest Wangai of Epren
Academy, Nairobi till 2020 when
my tenure ends,” explains an
eloquently and enthusiastic
Kasanga as she recalls her
time serving at KPSA. In
2015, Kasanga had been
elected the chairperson,
Education Sector
Board, under the
Kenya Private Sector
Alliance (KEPSA).
At the KPSA,
Kasanga earned
interesting,
fruitful and
empowering
lessons. According to
her people in all stations
in life must be ready to change
by embracing positive thoughts. They
must empower and motivate others
and learn to lay a balance between
short and long -term goals. She
advises people not to hide behind
